Windows Phone 7 on a Sony Ericsson?! Just a prototype, for now…

As you can see below, there is a possibility that Sony Ericsson might launch a WP7 handset this year. I’m not being surprised, since nearly all of the top manufacturer’s like HTC, Dell or Samsung has at least one Windows Phone 7 device within their pocket.

Sony Ericsson Windows Phone 7 Device

The design of this “Sony Ericsson Xperia 7” reminds us the HTC 7 Pro, featuring a sliding QWERTY keyboard. It has the significant Windows Phone buttons, the Back, Home and Search. Unfortunately, we have no image with the back of the phone, although I suppose that it should sport at least an 8 MP camera, we’re talking about SE after all..

According to Pocketnow, while they took a closer look to the image, they believe that it uses the older version of the OS, meaning that Sony Ericsson could’ve been working on this handset for a longer time, or it just could be a fake.

I hope that this isn’t just a fake made by a hacker. Wouldn’t it be sexy? WP7 with the Xperia’s design and an at least 8 MP camera?

First Samsung Galaxy S II Hands-On Video!

Here is it folks, the Samsung Galaxy S II’s hands-on video is live and official specification info has been granted, thanks to Engadget. The handset is the thinnest smartphone available, measuring only 8.49 mm (yes, even thinner than SE Xperia Arc), while it boasts with a 1GHz Dual Core CPU based on the Samsung-Made chipset, Exynos.

Let’s take a look at the design. As already told in the previous article, the top of the screen sports the proximity sensor, the speakers and the 2MP front-facing camera for video calling, while at the bottom of the screen you can notice the Menu, Home (Navigation) and Back buttons. The interesting part is the back of the device (previous article didn’t include it), where we can find an 8MP camera which supports 1080p video capture (quite awesome), along with an LED Flash.

The display‘s diagonal measure is uncertain, but we assume that it could be around 4.3 inch, featuring the Super AMOLED Plus technology. According to Engadget, the screen is very bright, opening a possible war between LG Optimus Black’s and Samsung Galaxy S II’s display.

Regarding to the software, we hear that the OS that it’s running is the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, though unfortunately the UI is the Samsung-made TouchWiz 4.0. In the hands-on video, noticeable is the fact that while adding a widget is a lot more complicated than the original Android’s solution.

Here’s the video:

No price detail has been given, although the release will be this month, however, only in Asia and Europe. No word of North America, but we suppose that it won’t last longer than 1-2 months.

Samsung Wave 578, supporting NFC and New Bada OS version

Looks like the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology is spreading away pretty fast, already available on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, some BlackBerry and the upcoming iPhone devices. As said, Samsung Wave 578 will be introduced at the first day of Mobile World Congress, featuring the Bada OS 2.0 and NFC tech.

Samsung Wave 578 Supports NFC

The handset is a mid-range type, sporting a WQVGA 3.2 inch display, 3.2 MP camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and video calling. According to Moveplayer, the new version of the Bada OS will be 1.2, instead of 2.0 (Bada OS is made by Samsung).

The design is pretty nice, simple and intuitive. At the top of the screen you can notice the front-facing camera for video calling (likely VGA), the speaker and the proximity sensor, while at the bottom  of the screen is the Phone Accept/Decline and the OK + Navigation buttons. On the right side of the handset is the Power On\Off and probably the Camera Launch buttons.

Further informations will be given tomorrow, at MWC 2011. Stay tuned.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Debuts Today!

Before MWC, there’s always going to take place press conference’s, meaning that today Samsung will launch the most awaited Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy S2. Last week we’ve seen a lot of rumors, images, specification leaks, but today it’ll be official, hopefully along with the price and release date as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Galaxy Tab 2 features a 1GHz (Single or Dual Core) CPU, probably based on the new Samsung-Made chipset Exynos 4210. The Display is 10.1 inch with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while the tablet will come in three different versions: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

There’s a LTE 4G variant too, for those who need a very good connectivity speed. The handset runs the newly-introduced Android 3.0 Honeycomb, supporting the untouched version of it. That’s pretty cool, because what we’ve saw at Google’s event last month was very impressive. Both devices will be introduced at Mobile World Congress, tomorrow.
